Sleman - UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) held an even semester graduation ceremony for the the 2019/2020 academic year on Saturday (1/18/2020) in the Auditorium Building, UPNVY Campus. This time, the graduating students came from diploma, bachelor and master programs. There were 518 graduates  of the three programs which were 1 diploma program graduate, 443 undergraduate (bachelor) program graduates and 62 master program graduates.

The UPNVY Chancellor, Mohamad Irhas Effendi, as the leader of the graduation ceremony, explained that this 2nd graduation period graduated 518 students. This second period of graduation is a continuation of the first graduation which was held on October 10, 2019.

Furthermore, Irhas explained that out of 518 graduates, 32 percents or around 163 students graduated with honors or cum laude. In addition, there were also 10 students who had succeeded in getting intellectual works.

The Chancellor hopes that UPNVY graduates have a special characteristic, namely the synergy of the new paradigm of education and national defense to realize the superior human resources (HR). "The theme was taken because it entered the industrial revolution 4.0, so we need a new paradigm in learning, research, and implementation.

In addition, UPNVY also has a vision of the values ??of defending the country and loving the motherland. One of them is through Disaster Management study program under the Mineral Technology faculty which will have the greatest attention to disaster. "It is because Indonesia is a disaster-prone area", said Irhas.

In addition, UPNVY also has a disaster management study center. To improve its vision, UPNVY cooperated with Chunbook National University from South Korea. This is a part of the implementation of defending the country. 

Markus Kusnardijanto as the head of the cooperation and public relations divison said that there was something that got special attention from the graduation participants this time, namely 1 graduate from the master's program won a perfect cumulative achievement index (GPA) of 4.00. The perfect GPA winner was achieved by Tata Susila from the Management Master Program in the Faculty of Economics and Business.

Markus added that graduates of undergraduate programs who won the highest cumulative achievement index (GPA) were achieved by 3 graduates. The graduates who won the best GPA were Anicha Eka Safitri from the Economics and Business Management study program, Garin Nurani Dian Pitaloka from the International Relations Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, and Khanshadella Guska Dara from the Study Program of Agrotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture. The three best GPAs from this undergraduate program earned PIK 3.94

Meanwhile, the graduates of the diploma program had the highest cumulative achievement index which was achieved by Carel Sukmana Adi from the Chemical Engineering Diploma Study Program with a GPA of 3.61. PR / Dewi
